Translation and Typesetting for London Advertising Agencies
Adelphi were approached by a London advertising agency to translate and typeset a range of brochure for Jaguar and Range Rover. The languages were Arabic, Chinese and Russian. They required not only translation but also typesetting and proofreading too; the proofreading was to be carried out at their agency in London.
We also provided print ready PDFs for their London printers to use.

Translation and Typesetting for London Based Government Agencies and NGO’s
Adelphi has worked for a number of London based government and NGO agencies such as CILT (The National Centre for Languages) The languages involved in this project were Arabic, Somali, Yoruba, Gujarati, Tamil, Urdu, Punjabi, Urdu and both Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese.
Community Language educational materials for CILT by Adelphi
Adelphi are a preferred supplier to London based Amnesty International. After visiting Amnesty at their London headquarters to meet with their designers and project teams, we were initially offered their Eastern European language typesetting. The second project was for Kurdish Sorani, a right-to-left language used in Iran and Iraq.

Since then we have completed brochures in Croatian, Tamil, Cambodian, Albanian, Malay, Romanian, Romani, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Sinhalese, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese, Georgian, Slovak, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Hindi, Bengali, Somali and Greek.
Adelphi were contacted by London based Overseas Development Agency because they had an Arabic translation of a document called ‘Humanitarian Exchange’, concerning the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories. The HPG needed this document typeset for print. They supplied us with the Quark file, together with the images, which we converted using Adobe InDesign ME (Middle East version) for typesetting in Arabic.
Adelphi also completed a 135 page document for ODI in French and Spanish providing translations and typesetting. “Thank you for the proofs of the French and Spanish editions. I have to say your typesetter’s done an excellent job.” was the response from ODI.

London Hotels and Travel Translation
We also translate and convert websites for London companies such as Hotels; the example below was translated into French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Voice-overs and Subtitles
Voice-overs in any language
Adelphi Translations records all its Community Language voice-overs in house, either in the Sheffield recording studio in South Yorkshire or in its Manila recording studio in the Philippines. Community Languages is one of the areas we regularly produce voice-overs for. We also have our own portable voice-over recording equipment if required.
Adelphi Translations have produced many foreign language subtitles and voice-overs, but recently have had more and more requests to add foreign language subtitles or foreign language voice-overs to Flash movies. Adobe Flash has become the default movie format on the web over the last few years and is the default format for most on-line film upload sites, such as YouTube.
